Artist's Biography
Albert Contreras (b. 1933) is an American artist. His work has been exhibited in solo shows at Peter Mendenhall Gallery, Los Angeles; Daniel Weinberg Gallery, Los Angeles; Bill Maynes Gallery, New York; and the USC Fisher Museum. Group shows include exhibits at the Luckman Fine Arts Complex, Los Angeles and Bill Maynes Gallery, New York.

Curator's Biography
David Pagel is an art critic who writes regularly for the Los Angeles Times. He is an associate professor of art theory and history at Claremont Graduate University and an adjunct curator at The Parrish Art Museum in Southampton, New York, where he recently organized EST-3: Southern California in New York: Los Angeles Art from the Beth Rudin DeWoody Collection and Underground Pop. He also organized Stone Gravy, a nine-artist show about the precarious powers of art, for Ameringer / McEnery / Yohe, in New York. An avid cyclist, he is a three-time winner of the California Triple Crown and a two-time member of the Thousand-Mile Club.
