LACE SUMMER 2017 GETTY MULTICULTURAL INTERNSHIP
The Curatorial Intern will participate in two exhibitions scheduled for summer 2017 at Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions. The Intern will assist with the curation, production, and marketing of the 2017 Summer Residency Exhibition in the main gallery, as well as a research-focused exhibition on Teatro Campesino in the LACE Project Room and Storefront. The Curatorial Intern will work closely with artists, curators, and staff throughout the summer season, assisting in production and serving as key liaison between the artists and LACE’s staff, as well as with any additional artists/vendors involved in the projects. The Intern will also assist in preparations for LACE’s fall exhibition, Juan Downey: Radiant Nature, a solo show on Chilean artist Juan Downey as a part of Getty Pacific Standard Time LA/LA. This internship is for a student who is interested in learning about the curatorial process and who wants to develop exhibition and event production skills for critically engaged, exploratory and community-responsive artists. LACE’s summer season coincides with the 10-week internship cycle, which ensures that the intern will experience the various phases of a LACE programming cycle.
