We’re thinking of everyone who has been impacted

We’re thinking of everyone who has been impacted by the fires in our city and our heart goes out to everyone who has experienced tremendous loss. In this time of grief, we must renew our commitment to care for one another and rebuild what has been lost.

Grief and Hope (@artworldfirereliefla) is an important initiative offering direct relief to those affected. Their goal is to raise $500,000 to provide direct support to artists and art workers who have lost their homes or studios.

Here’s how you can help or get help (all links in our bio):

Grief and Hope is a volunteer-led mutual aid and relief effort dedicated to supporting artists and individuals impacted by the fires. It is led by Kathryn Andrews, Andrea Bowers, Olivia Gauthier, Julia V. Hendrickson, and Ariel Pittman.

We’re grateful for the incredible press this exhibition has received and extend our thanks to everyone who has spent time with the works, shared their experience with friends, and attended our programs. We’re so proud of all the effort poured into this project.

For over 40 years, our apprenticeship program has been a pipeline for emerging cultural workers in Los Angeles. In line with our commitment to artists, curators, and cultural workers, LACE has a proud history of mentoring the next generation of arts workers. Through our apprenticeship program, we provide hands-on experience and mentorship, empowering participants to build a careers in the arts.

We thank our many partners and collaborators this year for welcoming us into their spaces while our Hollywood gallery has been undergoing renovation. Special thanks to our friends at Garibaldina MB Society (@garibaldinasociety), L.A. Dance Project (@ladanceproject), Heavy Manners Library (@heavymannerslibrary), Philosophical Research Society (@philosophical_research_society), and the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery (@lamagbarnsdall).

With their support, we were able to present impactful programs like “A Heart Misshapen,” “ABUNDANCE,” Artist unresidencies with Artemisa Clark, Karla Diaz, and Jaklin Romine, the LACE Screening Room, and lastly our PST ART exhibtion, “Beatriz da Costa: (un)disciplinary tactics.”
