Announcing: Intergalactix Artist Takeovers

(Español abajo)

In the lead-up to Intergalactix: Against Isolation/ contra el aislamiento, featured artists in the show will take over LACE’s Instagram every Wednesday! Takeovers started this week with The Fire Theory, a collaborative art production project formed in El Salvador by Crack Rodriguez, Ernesto Bautista, Melissa Guevara, Mauricio Kabistan, and Mauricio Esquivel.

Since last year, TFT has worked with Intergalactix curatorial team, exchanging ideas and forming collaborations while based in El Salvador, New York, Mexico, and Colombia. TFT collective work is based on interdisciplinary practices to create art, theory and manage art exhibitions to produce knowledge and discussions on contemporary art. TFT collective practice challenges the notions of national borders and considers social conflicts, migration, the otherness and personal memories as important reflections around “staying human”.
