November 11 – December 12, 1987
Initiated by Hungarian filmmakers Gábor Bódy and Verushka Bódy, Infermental was an international videocassette magazine that published video works and trailers. The concept of a magazine on videotape was originally inspired by the experience of sending tapes through the mail to get past the Iron Curtain in order to facilitate communication about art.
Appearing annually with a total running time between four and six hours, each issue of Infermental was compiled and edited in a different city. The project involved ten issues, based in Berlin and Hamburg, Germany; Budapest, Lyon, Rotterdam, Vancouver, Buffalo; Tokyo, Vienna, Osnabrück and Skopje.
