THE BOARD INVITES YOU TO JOIN THE HOST COMMITTEE
As a member of the Host Committee, your $500 tax-deductible contribution enables LACE to continue in its vital role of being a space for artists to take risks. LACE supports emerging and mid-career artists by providing exhibition and performance opportunities for new work, as well as opportunities for emerging curators. You will also receive the following benefits:

• An invitation for you and a guest to attend the Auction Preview Brunch to socialize with other key LACE supporters, curators, and artists on Sunday, May 1, 11:00 am – 2:00 pm. The brunch will be held at the home of a LACE Board member in a historic neighborhood of Los Angeles. You can peruse images of selected auction items, honor the board service of William Moreno, outgoing Chair, and learn about exciting new developments for LACE.

• Four (4) complimentary tickets (two for you and a guest) to the Live and Silent Auctions on
Wednesday, May 18.

• Acknowledgment on the night of the Auction, as well as in print and online materials.

Thank you to everyone who attended “ENDURANCE” Thank you to everyone who attended “ENDURANCE” this past Friday and Saturday, May 16–17. Held over two nights at L.A. Dance Project, “ENDURANCE” showcased re-stagings and new commissions by legacy performance, dance, and literary artists. Pictured here is Awilda Sterling-Duprey (@awildasterling) performing “Makandal es la consigna / Makandal Is the Call to Action” (2025). The performance draws from the myth of François Mackandal, the 18th-century Haitian revolutionary who, after being captured and burned alive, vanished without a trace and became a symbol of resistance.

“ENDURANCE” featured performances by artists including Gloria Enedina Álvarez (@gloriaenedinalvarez), Kamau Daáood, Anna Homler, Jeff Schwartz, and David Javelosa, Ulysses Jenkins and his band “Who Dat!,” Juanita and Juan (@alice_bag + @kidcongopowers), Sharon Kagan (@sharonkagan), Hirokazu Kosaka, Oguri, Sheree Rose (@msrosebush), Barbara T. Smith, The Dark Bob, and Awilda Sterling-Duprey. The program also featured films by Eiko Otake (@eiko_otake), Joan Jonas (@broadcove), and Marnie Weber (@marnieweberstudio).

Happening June 7–8, from 7–10 PM, “This Home Forever” sparks thoughts about the potential erosion of Los Angeles’s diverse and vibrant urban ecosystem against the backdrop of gentrification.

“This Home, Forever” is a stage, a forum, and a dynamic workshop nurtured by a group of artists and activists devoted to and inspired by Los Angeles. Participating artists include Performance Artist 011668 (@0ll668), Perras Bravas (@perras.bravas), Michele Lorusso (@michelelorusso), Jaklin Romine (@jakioeoeo), San Fernando Valley music project Pacoima Techno (@pacoimatechno), and Los Angeles Poverty Department (@lapovertydepartment).
