Dance Project, “ENDURANCE” showcased re-stagings and new commissions by legacy performance, dance, and literary artists. Pictured here is Awilda Sterling-Duprey (@awildasterling) performing “Makandal es la consigna / Makandal Is the Call to Action” (2025). The performance draws from the myth of François Mackandal, the 18th-century Haitian revolutionary who, after being captured and burned alive, vanished without a trace and became a symbol of resistance.

“ENDURANCE” featured performances by artists including Gloria Enedina Álvarez (@gloriaenedinalvarez), Kamau Daáood, Anna Homler, Jeff Schwartz, and David Javelosa, Ulysses Jenkins and his band “Who Dat!,” Juanita and Juan (@alice_bag + @kidcongopowers), Sharon Kagan (@sharonkagan), Hirokazu Kosaka, Oguri, Sheree Rose (@msrosebush), Barbara T.
