An expanded version of the Annual Downtown Artists Show, the first Annuale was open to any artist who lived or worked within Los Angeles County. Artists included: Max Almy, Elizabeth Bryant, Diane Buckler, John Divola, Roy Dowell, Keith Downey, Connie Fitzsimons and Bruce Meisner, Laura Hayes, Kady Hoffman, Kay Koopman, Carolyn Krause, Art Nomura and Marc Pally. Curated by Ned Rifkin, curator of contemporary art at the Corcoran Gallery.
