LACE’S INFAMOUS VALENTINE’S DAY PARTY IS BACK
To kick off our 30th anniversary in decadent style!

Featuring brand new or rarely seen explicit videos and performances from Southern California artists 

LACE (Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions) is proud to kick off LACE’s 30th Anniversary on Thursday, 14 February, with Lust 4 LACE––the revival of LACE’s Infamous Valentine’s Day Benefit Bash.

Organized by artists David Burns and Margie Schnibbe (aka Vena Virago) with Peter Bolton & Carla Hart, Lenora Claire, Chad Clark, Robert Crouch and Christine Nichols, Lust 4 LACE celebrates the grand tradition of years past and all manner of delightful debauchery by creating a night featuring explicit, naked, juicy, tasty, slippery, slimy, crunchy, gooey, sexy, voyeuristic, fetishistic live action animated narrative squishy hand-made video, live art and musical performance––DJ sets by John Tejada, Henry Self and Robert Crouch––not to mention kinky crafts with JP Craft Captain sponsored by Babeland.

These works will kick off LACE’s 30th anniversary and celebrate three outrageous decades of performance and media art in Los Angeles. All works will become a part of the LACE Media Archive. The LACE archive represents a crucial site of cultural history for southern California. The past three decades of contemporary art in Los Angeles have featured diverse and diffuse practices and the LACE archival holdings are one of the primary sources of information of this important work.

PROCEEDS BENEFIT LACE, a crucial resource to the history of art-making post 1978 in Los Angeles. Join us in celebrating LA’s rich legacy of creative production, LACE’s unforgettable part in that history and ringing in its feisty future!
