Watch Rafa Esparza: i have never been here before

Rafa Esparza: i have never been here before from LACE on Vimeo.

In Summer 2015, artist Rafa Esparza and collaborators constructed 5,000 handmade adobe bricks and transformed the LACE gallery into a space absent of corners, unified by a curve, and made out of brown matter. Collaborators included Mariel Capanna, Lane Davis, Danny Rivas, Jimmy Rivas, Josh Vasquez, among many others.

This video is a time-lapse of the construction and deconstruction of the space, and a thank you to everyone who dedicated their time and energy to the project. Learn more here.

Time-lapse by Angel Alvarado.

Rafa Esparza: i have never been here before was made possible through the support of the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Arts.
