Lyeberry #8 Campfire
November 4, 2010 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
November 4, 2010
6 – 9 pm
Presented by Elysian Park Museum of Art
Just in time for the nostalgia of summer camping trips to hit, LACE and the Elysian Park Museum of Art host Lyeberry #8 Campfire in LACE’s Main Gallery, also known as the Elysian Park Museum of Art Visitor’s Center. Visitors will gather around virtual flames with another campfire site in New York via Skype, allowing all ‘visitors’ to share performances, storytellings, readings, sing-a-longs, and each others’ company. Campfire continues a series of dialogues between EPMoA and Lyeberry, a mobile information sharing project by Akina Cox and Joseph Imhauser which seeks to “personalize the distribution of knowledge by holding events focused on the
sharing of the documented and undocumented, performed and published, temporal and permanent.”
In Los Angeles, Campfire will be held at LACE from 6 – 9 PM, and in New York, visitors will gather at NYU-Steinhardt’s Barney Building (6th floor) in the East Village.
