A Night of Ecstasy

A Night of Ecstasy features two solo sets by experimental vocalist Carmina Escobar (Mexico City, Mexico) and noise artist Banetoriko (Nara, Japan). Both artists focus primarily on sound, voice, their bodies and the interrelations to physical, social and memory spaces. Carmina Escobar explores the extreme capacities of her voice investigating radical ideas and developing a wide range of vocal techniques. Banetoriko amplifies dreamy, anxious noisescapes with her self-made metal instrument calling for inspiration from yokai, a Japanese term for supernatural creatures, including monsters, demons, ghosts and spirits.
